Job summary

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)—Office of Diversion Control Operations, Data Analysis Unit—seeks a data-focused analyst to devise methodologies and data structures that transform raw data into actionable information for advanced analysis.

Required are degrees in math, statistics, CS, data science, or related fields and at least one year of specialized experience at or above GS-12 level, including data management, reporting, and data extraction activities.

Qualifications

• Degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or related field at the baccalaureate level
• At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level
• Specialized experience includes organizing data for analysis, authoring analyses, developing data extraction queries and evaluating data validity

Responsibilities

• Utilize data management systems to organize data into usable information for analysis
• Develop queries for data extraction and data processing
• Author formal analysis reports and assessments to support decision making
• Conduct studies to determine the validity of data, methodologies, or results of information/analysis
