Caterpillar Inc. in East Peoria, IL is seeking a Data Scientist to partner with the Power & Energy Drivetrain team. You will analyze large data volumes to support data-driven decisions, extract insights, and contribute to solution development.

You will work with stakeholders to gather requirements, develop semantic data capabilities, and apply machine learning to improve performance and outcomes in a data-driven, high-impact environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of statistical tools to describe business results.
• Ability to use statistics to support data-driven decisions.
• Attention to detail and data quality across large datasets.
• Experience with enterprise data platforms and data modeling.

Responsibilities

• Direct data gathering, mining, and processing at large volume; build data models.
• Apply NLP, text analysis and ML techniques to derive insights.
• Define requirements for analyses; present insights with visualizations.
• Research data models and algorithms to improve accuracy.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to prepare deployment plans.
• Support standardized best practices and related tools & training.
