Job summary

Red Ventures’ RV Education (EDU) is seeking an experienced Data Scientist to join the Education division. The team builds machine learning solutions to personalize onsite experiences and optimize processes for partners and prospective students who visit our sites.

You’ll collaborate across data science, product, and engineering to deploy end-to-end models, learn new techniques, and promote inclusive collaboration in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 1+ yrs of professional experience in a data science role with an MS or PhD in STEM with a focus in computer science, machine learning, statistical modeling, or optimization, OR 3-5 years of professional experience in a data science or machine learning role.
• Bias to action, with a strong sense of execution and proactive communication.
• Experience with end-to-end model development, deployment, and monitoring workflows.
• Proficiency in Python and experience with Databricks.
• Ability to understand business context, define value propositions, and solve data science problems with minimal guidance.

Responsibilities

• Execute multi-disciplinary data science solutions end to end with minor guidance.
• Collaborate with data scientists, product managers, and engineers to move ideas to production.
• Incorporate requirements from business stakeholders across teams to solve problems.
• Help build a positive culture across technical and business teams.
• Stay connected with the broader data science community within RV and stay updated on DS/ML/AI trends.
• Promote an inclusive environment where team members feel empowered.

This role requires a hybrid schedule and will be based in our Santurce office (Tuesday through Thursday) and work fully remotely on Mondays and Fridays each week.

About the Role

We are looking to hire an experienced Data Scientist to join our Education division. We’re developing systems that personalize the onsite experience, create additional online journeys, and optimize current processes. Our team focuses on applyingdata scienceexpertise to business opportunities in a highly collaborative, cross-functional environment. What You'll Do

• Execute multi-disciplinarydata sciencesolutions end to end effectively and efficiently with minor guidance from technical leaders.

• Participate in the broaderdata sciencecommunity within RV on the design and execution of thedata scienceprojects, especially when relevant to expertise.
• Stay in touch with the constantly growing field of DS/ML/AIto learn about new techniques and how they might be applicable to projects within RV.
• Help create and promote an inclusive environment where team members feel comfortable and empowered.

What We're Looking For:

• 1+ yrs of professional experience in adata sciencerole with an MS or PhD in STEM with a focus incomputer science,machine learning,statistical modeling, or optimization, OR 3-5 years of professional experience in adata scienceormachine learningrole.

• Ability to methodically understand business context, define value propositions, and formulate and solve complexdata scienceproblems with minor guidance from technical leaders.
• Ability to clearly articulate the “why” behind proposeddata sciencesolutions to the relevant stakeholders.
• Ability to own key deliverables and use problem solving to deliver projects on time and iterate when justified by potential, incremental value.
• Ability to communicate their project status, timeline, and technical results to broad audiences.
• Experience participating in scopingdata scienceprojects, and owning their own execution.
• Experience developing skills specific to a specialization or expertise through research skills like literature reviews and communication of findings
