Sierra Management and Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Data Scientist to support the NAWCAD Readiness & Fleet Analytics Division at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Lexington Park, MD. Responsibilities include migrating code from CDSW to Databricks and transforming PMA data into actionable insights using Tableau and Power BI.

The role requires 5+ years in data science and strong Python, R, and SQL skills, plus experience with BI tools and cloud platforms. Security clearance and U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or Engineering/Operations Research with 5+ years experience; Master's preferred.
• 7+ years programming experience with Python, R, or SQL.
• 3-5+ years hands-on BI experience with Tableau, Qlik, or Power BI.
• 5+ years experience with JIRA and GitLab.
• Secret security clearance required; must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Apply advanced analytical models to solve complex challenges.
• Develop interactive reports and dashboards using Tableau, Qlik or Power BI for PMA and AA&I decision-makers.
• Demonstrate expertise in Python, R, SQL; analyze aircraft platform data to detect failures and performance issues.
• Design and manage data architecture for diverse data science projects; ensure data flow between servers and applications.
• Gather, clean, preprocess, and analyze data; apply statistical techniques and develop automated data transmission scripts.
• Apply machine learning and NLP to collect, process, and present statistical insights.
