Job summary

Maximus is seeking a Data Scientist to support the POTFF program, applying advanced analytics, NLP, and ML to improve readiness and well-being of Special Operations personnel and families.

U.S. citizenship and an active Secret clearance are required. This role involves transforming complex health and operational data into actionable insights and collaborating with cross-functional teams to impact program outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in data science, statistics, mathematics, CS, or related field.
• 3+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Advanced degree preferred.
• 1-3+ years applying quantitative research to optimize human decisions using ML/DL.
• 1+ years using ML/DL frameworks (Scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras).
• 1+ years data engineering with big data analytics (Hadoop, SQL, Spark, Snowflake) on cloud.
• 1+ years programming in Python, Scala, or Julia.
• Security: active Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on data analysis and modeling with huge data sets.
• Apply NLP and ML to improve relevance and personalization algorithms.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and designers on experiments and MVPs.
• Discover data sources, import, clean, and make data model-ready.
• Create and refine features from the underlying data.
• Run regular A/B tests and communicate results to peers and leaders.
• Explore new design or tech shifts to connect with customer benefits.
