Job summary

Guidehouse is recruiting for a data science consultant focused on Navy missions in the McLean area. You will build and sustain Palantir Foundry data pipelines, develop decision-support tools, and deliver dashboards and automated workflows to improve readiness and logistics efficiency.

You will collaborate with Navy stakeholders, transform mission needs into technical plans, and participate in Agile DevSecOps to ensure secure analytics as part of modernization efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in data science or a related quantitative field.
• 1+ years’ of experience in data engineering, analytics, automation, or AI/ML development.
• Strong proficiency in Python (NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, Matplotlib) and workflow automation.
• Experience developing automated dashboards, pipelines, and mission-oriented reporting solutions using Power BI, Power Apps, and Python.
• Familiarity with SQL, GitHub, and modern version control practices.

Responsibilities

• Integrate ML models, APIs, and automated pipelines into Foundry environments for rapid access to decision-ready data.
• Collaborate with Navy program managers and technical teams to translate needs into actionable technical plans.
• Support Agile development cycles and DevSecOps processes for secure, scalable mission analytics.
• Facilitate training and data-literacy engagements across Navy user groups.

What You Will Do:

• Advance Navy mission objectives by building, enhancing, and sustaining Palantir Foundry data pipelines, ontologies, and workflows that directly support operational readiness, logistics efficiency, and decision-quality analytics.
• Develop and deliver mission-aligned Foundry demos and decision-support tools that help Navy leaders visualize operational challenges, evaluate courses of action, and adopt modern data capabilities.
• Increase analytic velocity across Fleet operations by replacing manual reporting processes with automated, scalable workflows using Python, Power BI, and Power Apps.
• Design dashboards, AI-enabled workflows, and performance metrics that senior leaders rely on to assess Fleet capacity, maintenance readiness, supply chain performance, and operational tempo.
• Integrate ML models, APIs, and automated pipelines into mission-tailored Foundry environments, enabling Sailors, analysts, and operational commands to rapidly access and act on decision-ready data.
• Collaborate with Navy program managers, Fleet users, and technical teams to translate mission needs into actionable technical plans that enhance operational outcomes, readiness reporting, and mission execution.
• Support Agile development cycles and DevSecOps processes to ensure secure, dependable, and scalable mission analytics aligned with Navy digital modernization priorities.
• Facilitate training, workshops, and data-literacy engagements that strengthen analytic proficiency and AI readiness across Navy user groups and mission communities.

What You Will Need:

• Must be able to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DoD "SECRET" security clearance; candidates must obtain approved adjudication of clearance prior to onboarding with Guidehouse. Candidates with an ACTIVE "SECRET" or higher-level clearance are preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in data science or a related quantitative field
• ONE (1)+ years’ of experience in data engineering, analytics, automation, or AI/ML development
• Strong proficiency in Python (NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, Matplotlib) and workflow automation
• Experience developing automated dashboards, pipelines, and mission-oriented reporting solutions using Power BI, Power Apps, and Python
• Familiarity with SQL, GitHub, and modern version control practices
• Demonstrated consulting competencies including mission translation, strategic communication, stakeholder engagement, and executive-level briefings

What Would Be Nice To Have:

• Experience coordinating multi-disciplinary teams to deliver integrated demos and mission-focused analytical products.
• Hands-on experience with Palantir Foundry tools, including Ontology and AIP Foundations.
• Experience developing ML models, AI governance tools, or workflow automation frameworks applicable to Navy logistics, readiness, or maintenance use cases.
• Experience building API-enabled data solutions and integrating third-party systems to enhance operational insights.
• Familiarity with security and compliance frameworks such as NIST 800-53.
• Experience delivering training or large-scale upskilling programs focused on data, analytics, or AI literacy across mission environments.
