Plaid is seeking a Data Scientist on the Credit team to apply quantitative analysis and credit expertise to improve lending decisions. You will translate Plaid’s data into actionable insights, inform product direction, and support data-driven client strategies.

Your work involves analyzing model performance, building credit signals, and creating tailored recommendations for lenders. Collaboration across teams will drive scalable, practical solutions.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of industry experience in a financial services Data Science role.
• Strong SQL and Python skills.
• Solid understanding of credit risk and underwriting concepts.
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining credit policies for lenders.
• Knowledge of the lending lifecycle from marketing to collections.
• Proven ability to make data-driven decisions.

Responsibilities

• Deep-dive into model performance for clients and identify improvement opportunities.
• Analyze Plaid’s data to find emerging credit risk signals and evaluate retrospectives.
• Create tailored client recommendations based on data and insights.
• Build and maintain data pipelines, including ETL processes with dbt.
• Develop metrics, alerts, and dashboards to monitor model performance.
