fairlife, LLC in Chicago seeks a Data Scientist to advance its Decision Intelligence ecosystem, designing and deploying AI/ML models for production optimization, quality control, anomaly detection, and real-time analytics. The role emphasizes scalable data pipelines, MLOps, and responsible AI practices.

You will work with the Senior Data Scientist, build LLM-powered solutions, and apply prompt engineering and RAG techniques to automate workflows, while collaborating with cross-functional teams

Qualifications

• 2-4+ years of data science or AI engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in a STEM field.
• Experience with ML/DL frameworks.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience with cloud platforms for AI deployment.
• Familiarity with MLOps and CI/CD.
• Experience with LLMs and prompt engineering.
• Ability to visualize data with BI tools.
• Strong communication across teams.
• Prior exposure to manufacturing or supply chain is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Senior Data Scientist to design, develop, and deploy AI and ML models.
• Engineer and maintain scalable data pipelines for AI/ML workflows.
• Enable AI adoption by developing reusable components, APIs, and automation scripts.
• Support model lifecycle management, including monitoring, retraining, and performance optimization.
• Implement MLOps best practices for version control, CI/CD, and automated deployment.
• Assist in the development of dashboards and tools to communicate model results.
• Apply prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and fine-tuning to build effective large language model (LLM) solutions.
• Build and integrate LLM-powered agents to automate multi-step tasks and workflows.
• Ensure responsible AI practices, including fairness, transparency, and compliance.
• Gather, clean, and analyze large datasets to support AI initiatives.
• Conduct experiments and statistical analyses to answer business questions and validate AI models.
• Stay current with emerging AI technologies and recommend innovative solutions
