Job summary

Lyft Ads is seeking an Algorithms Scientist to build the next generation of ads relevance, targeting, optimization, and measurement algorithms. You will work on large datasets and real‑time systems to prototype and deploy production‑grade models, collaborating with Engineering, Product, Data Science, and Sales.

This role emphasizes strong ML intuition, hands‑on modeling experience, and ability to write clean production code.

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in ML, CS, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, or related quantitative field.
• 3–5 years of hands‑on ML/applied science experience, production models, or ads/recommendation domains.
• Strong proficiency in Python and ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX, scikit‑learn).
• Experience with large‑scale datasets and distributed data tools (Spark, Snowflake, Presto, Databricks).
• Experience building ranking/relevance models, optimization/pacing algorithms, and predictive models (CTR/CVR).
• Understanding online/offline evaluation techniques and A/B testing methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy production‑grade ML models and algorithms for Lyft Ads.
• Own end‑to‑end modeling projects from problem definition to deployment and monitoring.
• Collaborate with Ads Engineering to integrate models into real‑time serving and batch systems.
• Analyze large mobility and ads datasets to identify patterns and opportunities.
• Implement model evaluation frameworks including A/B testing and calibration.
• Build training pipelines, features, and scoring infrastructure with reproducibility in mind.
