Job description

Stitch Fix empowers people to be their best selves—professionally and personally.

At Stitch Fix, our mission is to help people discover the styles they will love that fit perfectly so they always look and feel their best. To deliver on our mission, we foster a culture that is client-obsessed, where we dream big together and act boldly to redefine what's possible in personalized shopping. We're fixing the way people shop for what they love - and we need your big ideas. If you work with heart, hustle and a high bar, we just might be the perfect fit.

Stitch Fix (NASDAQ: SFIX) Stitch Fix is redefining retail by combining human creativity with advanced data science and Generative AI. As we build the future of personalized shopping, we’re equally committed to building yours. We believe in investing in our team as much as our technology. Join us to be a trendsetter in the industry and help us redefine what’s possible for our clients, while we help you reach your full potential.

About the Role

The Decisions & Insights team empowers teams across Stitch Fix with objective, high-impact insights and intelligent self-service tools that improve how we understand clients and make decisions. Using experimentation, causal inference, advanced analytics, and AI, the team goes beyond understanding what happened to uncover why it happened and what we should do next.

In this role, you will partner with teams across Client Experience, Strategy, Marketing, Styling, Client Support, and Engineering to turn complex data into actionable business strategy. You will design and analyze experiments and observational studies, uncover differentiated insights from Stitch Fix's rich structured and unstructured data, and build repeatable analytical workflows and systems that scale those learnings across the organization. You’ll independently own high-impact problems from initial framing through delivery, combining technical depth, business judgment, and strong communication to influence decisions and drive measurable outcomes.

What You’ll Do
  • Develop sophisticated statistical models, experiments, and causal inference approaches that uncover the drivers of client and business outcomes and inform high-impact decisions.
  • Build scalable analytical capabilities—including semantic layers, entity models, and repeatable workflows that connect fragmented data and enable analytics, predictive modeling, AI applications, and self-service decision-making.
  • Own complex, ambiguous analytical initiatives from problem definition through execution, measurement, and communication, translating findings into clear recommendations and executive-ready narratives.
  • Partner with Client Experience, Strategy, Marketing, Styling, Engineering, and other cross-functional teams to define success metrics, understand client journeys and behaviors, and identify opportunities to improve products and experiences.
  • Advance the team’s technical capabilities by mentoring other Data Scientists and leveraging LLMs, AI agents, and emerging tools to accelerate analysis, improve workflows, and raise the bar for experimentation, modeling, and technical excellence.
About You

This is what you’ll need to succeed in this role from day 1:

  • You have 3+ years of experience in Data Science or a related analytical role, with experience applying advanced analytical methods to complex business problems; experience in e-commerce, retail, or a similarly data-rich environment is a plus.
  • You have a strong foundation in experimentation, causal inference, statistical modeling, and product analytics, including defining success metrics, analyzing user behavior, and connecting analytical results to measurable business outcomes.
  • You have experience working with complex, interconnected datasets and building scalable data structures or analytical capabilities; experience with graph databases, semantic layers, entity modeling, or multimodal data is strongly valued.
  • You are proficient in Python or R and SQL and are comfortable developing analytical solutions in collaborative, production-oriented environments. You also know how to effectively leverage LLMs and AI agents to accelerate problem-solving, analysis, documentation, and day-to-day workflows.
  • You are a strong communicator and independent problem solver who can bring structure to ambiguity, own initiatives from concept through delivery, translate complex technical concepts for business and executive audiences, and help raise the technical bar for those around you.
Why You’ll Love Working at Stitch Fix
  • We are a group of bright, kind people who are motivated by challenge. We value integrity, innovation and trust. You’ll bring these characteristics to life in everything you do at Stitch Fix.
  • We cultivate a community of diverse perspectives—all voices are heard and valued.
  • We are an innovative company and leverage our strengths in fashion and tech to disrupt the future of retail.
  • We win as a team, commit to our work, and celebrate grit together because we value strong relationships.
  • We boldly create the future while keeping equity and sustainability at the center of all that we do.
  • We are the owners of our work and are energized by solving problems through a growth mindset lens. We think broadly and creatively through every situation to create meaningful impact.
  • We offer comprehensive compensation packages and inclusive health and wellness benefits.
