This is a hands-on data science role embedded in one business area, such as growth marketing, product, AI and automation, or partnerships. The person owns the analytics for that area from start to finish: choosing the right questions, defining metrics, running analyses and experiments, and pushing recommendations through with product, growth, finance, or operations teams. A strong candidate has a couple of years in consulting, banking, or a fast growing tech company, works comfortably in SQL or Python, and can explain findings clearly to skeptical leaders.

How it fits the AI era

AI tools can speed up pulling data, writing queries, and drafting first-pass analysis, so the value shifts toward framing the problem well and judging whether a result can be trusted. For a company building an AI powered advisor, one focus area is AI and automation, where this person would help measure what automated features actually deliver. What stays human is deciding which questions matter, challenging flawed assumptions, and persuading a team to act.

How it builds AI experience
