Humana is seeking a Data Scientist 2 to advance Generative AI initiatives for healthcare. In this hybrid role, you will build AI applications powered by modern LLMs while helping deliver safe, responsible generative AI and production-ready solutions. You will work across teams to integrate AI into enterprise workflows with MLOps practices, focusing on scalability, reliability, and compliance.
Work model: 3 days per week in office and 2 days per week remote/home. Schedule: 40 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop AI solutions using Python, AI/ML, and generative models including LLMs.
- Apply responsible development aligned with Humana's ethical standards, emphasizing transparency, safety, and real-world impact.
- Build autonomous AI agents using agent frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, AutoGen, and CrewAI to support reasoning and decision-making in healthcare.
- Embed AI into Humana's systems and workflows.
- Partner with business teams to understand challenges, co-create solutions, and communicate AI capabilities clearly, with a focus on generative AI.
- Design for scalability, reliability, and compliance.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to implement best practices for deploying and maintaining AI models in production.
- Execute data science initiatives, including design, development, and implementation.
- Develop and maintain advanced AI/ML models and algorithms.
- Implement robust monitoring capabilities to maintain optimal performance and reliability.
- Create reports, projections, models, and presentations for business stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree and 2+ years of applicable experience OR Master's Degree, 1+ year of applicable experience, preferably focused on production-ready AI solutions.
- Experience with agentic AI system design.
- Experience collaborating with MLOps and DevOps teams.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, PySpark, and data analysis/data mining tools.
- Experience with machine learning frameworks such as Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
- Experience with high performance, large-scale ML systems.
- Experience with language modeling using transformers.
- Experience with large-scale ETL.

Compensation & Incentives
Pay range: $97,900 - $133,500 per year.
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan based on company and/or individual performance.
