Job summary

Appriss Retail is seeking a Data Science Manager to lead a small, high-output team while staying hands-on. You will own data science, data engineering, governance, and production ML systems, including LLMs and agent architectures.

You will write code, review pipelines, define data contracts, and guide architectural decisions. The role requires 6+ years in data science/engineering, 1+ year of people management, and strong SQL/Python, with cloud experience and governance expertise.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a quantitative field or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years in data science/engineering or related field.
• 1+ year of direct people management or technical lead experience.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery of data science projects from request to production.
• Design and maintain data pipelines, models, and governance.
• Lead ML model evaluation, deployment, monitoring, and iteration.
• Architect LLM-integrated features and agent workflows.
• Guide cloud data platform architecture for performance and cost.
