Job summary

Hartford Steam Boiler (HSB) invites a Data Science Intern to join our Hartford, CT team. You will work on large-scale machine learning projects spanning insurance, engineering or technology solutions, with a strong emphasis on quantitative analysis and production-ready coding.

Ideal candidates are MS/PhD students in statistics, CS, math, physics or related fields, with Python/R/SQL experience. Hybrid work is expected, starting May 2027, in Hartford, CT.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD student in a quantitative field.
• Aptitude for large data sets to identify opportunities for product and process optimization.
• Exceptional undergraduate students will also be considered.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on large-scale ML projects across insurance, engineering or technology solutions.
• Analyze large datasets to identify opportunities for optimization.
• Develop production-ready code with Python/R/SQL.
• Support hybrid internship in Hartford, CT starting May 2027.
