Job summary

Hartford Steam Boiler (HSB), a Munich Re company, invites you to join its Summer Data Science Internship in Hartford, CT. You will collaborate with our Data Science team on large-scale ML projects across insurance, engineering or technology solutions while learning the tools of the trade.

This internship targets MS/PhD students in quantitative fields (or exceptional undergrads) with strong Python/R/SQL skills, Spark experience, and familiarity with Git, Docker, and Azure.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD student in statistics, CS, math, physics or related quantitative field.
• Heavy emphasis on using large data sets to find optimization opportunities.
• Exceptional undergraduates will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Data Science team on large-scale ML projects.
• Contribute to projects supporting insurance, engineering or technology solutions.
• Develop production-level code with clear documentation.
