Job summary

National Gypsum Company in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Summer Data Science Intern to join the Data Science and Analytics team. You will work on supply chain and manufacturing analytics, develop analytical models, and research governance and data retention policies for large language models.

You will collaborate with data scientists and business stakeholders, presenting insights and contributing to real-world projects that improve operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in data science, computer science, statistics, or related field.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills; capable of conveying complex information clearly.

Responsibilities

• Analyze supply chain, manufacturing, and pricing data to identify trends, efficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
• Develop and implement analytical models to solve business problems.
• Research governance policies and data retention strategies for LLMs and present findings to senior team members.
• Collaborate with data scientists and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver insights.
• Document and present analysis results and project outcomes.
• Engage in ongoing learning with the team through workshops and seminars.
