Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Data Science Intern to join our Arlington, VA team supporting national security customers. You will work with researchers, engineers, and data scientists to evolve a production platform that combines AI, machine learning, data analytics, and visualization tools.

You will gain hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, ETL tasks, and prototype development, while learning to apply data science methods to real-world national security challenges. This 8–10 week internship.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields
• Software development skills including developing and maintaining code bases
• Familiar with at least one programming language like Python, Java, C/C++
• Experience with at least one ML library: scikit-learn, Keras, TensorFlow, or PyTorch
• Experience or coursework in Machine Learning, and/or Text analytics
• Must be U.S. Citizen
• Eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of experts in AI, machine learning, and software engineering
• Gain hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and prototype development
• Enhance your skills in data analytics, anomaly detection, and visualization tools
• Perform ETL tasks to ensure data consistency, quality, and security
• Develop Autonomous Agents as part of suite of tools to coordinate information discovery across different data sources
