Mativ, a global leader in specialty materials, seeks a Data Science & Business Intelligence Intern for Summer 2027 in Alpharetta, GA. The internship runs May 17, 2027 through August 6, 2027 and offers meaningful work, a dedicated intern manager, community service, professional development, and more.

You will support the BI team in Azure Cloud environments and Power BI, develop data science models, and participate in cross-functional meetings to translate business needs into analytics solutions.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
• Minimum GPA 3.0.
• A proficient understanding of Python-based object-oriented programming.
• Experience with software and model engineering concepts such as versioning, model deployment and model retraining.
• Hands-on experience with such Python libraries as scikit-learn, unittest and pytest, Flask and MLflow.
• Understanding of Git workflows and CI/CD.
• Experience creating and editing presentations in PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Enable and work with the BI team to build new capabilities in the Azure Cloud Environment and Power BI front-end environments.
• Develop models to build solutions to tackle real-world business problems.
• Understand software development lifecycle and work in a professional environment.
• Assist with developing a library containing all the features currently engineered.
• Participate in meetings across business and IT to develop business requirements.
• Build networking relationships and receive mentoring from team members and top-level management.
• Communicate findings and project status clearly and professionally through presentations.
• Use strategic thinking and perform data analytics for a variety of business problems and opportunities and create high-quality analytics solutions.
• Apply a wide variety of database applications and analytical tools, including SQL, Qlik View and Qlik Sense.
• Work on multiple stages of data science projects, including data pipeline, aggregation, feature engineering, modeling and visualization.
• Interact with product and service teams to identify questions and issues for data analysis and experiments.
• Communicate your analysis findings to product, service, and business managers.
• Learn the existing models developed by the Digital group and help standardize them using pipelines.
• Understand the manufacturing process and common data manipulation tasks.
