Job summary

Mativ is seeking a Data Science & Business Intelligence Intern for Summer 2027 in Alpharetta, GA. The internship runs May 17, 2027 to August 6, 2027 and includes meaningful work, an intern manager, community service, and professional development opportunities.

You will join the BI team, build capabilities in Azure Cloud and Power BI, develop models to solve real business problems, and gain exposure to the full data lifecycle from data pipelines to visualization.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
• Minimum GPA 3.0.
• A proficient understanding of Python-based object-oriented programming.
• Experience with software and model engineering concepts such as versioning, model deployment and model retraining.
• Hands‑on experience with such Python libraries as scikit-learn, unittest and pytest, Flask and MLflow.
• Understanding of Git workflows and CI/CD.
• Experience creating and editing presentations in PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Enable and work with the BI team to build new capabilities in the Azure Cloud Environment and Power BI front-end environments.
• Develop models to build solutions to tackle real-world business problems.
• Understand software development lifecycle and work in a professional environment.
• Assist with developing a library containing all the features currently engineered.
• Participate in meetings across business and IT to develop business requirements.
• Build networking relationships and receive mentoring from team members and top-level management.
• Communicate findings and project status clearly and professionally through presentations.
• Use strategic thinking and perform data analytics for a variety of business problems and opportunities and create high-quality analytics solutions.
• Apply a wide variety of database applications and analytical tools, including SQL, Qlik View and Qlik Sense.
• Work on multiple stages of data science projects, including data pipeline, aggregation, feature engineering, modeling and visualization.
• Interact with product and service teams to identify questions and issues for data analysis and experiments.
• Communicate your analysis findings to product, service, and business managers.
• Learn the existing models developed by the Digital group and help standardize them using pipelines.
• Understand the manufacturing process and common data manipulation tasks.
