Job summary

Fishbeck, Thompson, Carr & Huber is seeking a Data Science and AI/Machine learning Intern in Grand Rapids, MI. You will work with our data team to collect, clean, and analyze datasets, build ML models, and create dashboards that communicate insights to cross-functional teams.

You'll gain hands-on experience with Python, Pandas, NumPy, and Scikit-learn, and contribute to AI initiatives including NLP and automation.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and analyze datasets (structured and unstructured).

• Conduct exploratory data analysis to find patterns and opportunities.

Data Science and AI/Machine learning Intern

What You'll Do

• Collect, clean, and analyze structured and unstructured datasets.
• Assist in developing machine learning models for prediction, classification, and trend analysis.
• Support AI initiatives involving generative AI, natural language processing, and automation.
• Create dashboards, reports, and visualizations that communicate insights effectively.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify patterns and opportunities.
• Help evaluate model performance and recommend improvements.
• Document methodologies, findings, and best practices.
• Participate in technology research and proof-of-concept projects related to AI and emerging technologies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into data-driven solutions.

What We're Looking For

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Information Systems, Artificial Intelligence, or a related discipline.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Basic understanding of machine learning concepts and statistical analysis.
• Experience with Python and data analysis libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, or Scikit-learn.
• Familiarity with SQL and relational databases.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
