Our client is seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist who thrives at the intersection of computational science, data analysis, and business strategy. This role is ideal for a candidate with a strong foundation in predictive modeling, statistical analysis, and software development, especially in Python. The successful candidate will translate complex datasets into actionable business insights, develop models that guide decision-making, and effectively communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences alike.
The ideal candidate combines technical acumen with business intuition, driving impact across teams through data-driven recommendations and end-to-end model deployment.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to define key questions, translate them into analytical problems, and prioritize data initiatives.
- Extract, clean, and manipulate data from varied sources using SQL and Python.
- Develop and implement predictive and prescriptive models using advanced statistical and machine learning techniques.
- Build clear and impactful data visualizations to present findings to business and technical partners.
- Support end-to-end model lifecycle - from development through to deployment - within a modern cloud ecosystem.
- Participate in project planning, aligning data initiatives with broader business objectives.
- Continuously evaluate and integrate new tools, technologies, and practices to enhance modeling and data pipeline performance.
Top Skills And Experience (Required)
- Master's degree (or higher) in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related field
- Proficiency in SQL for data querying and transformation
- Hands-on experience in Python (including Pandas and NumPy) for statistical computing and model development
- Solid understanding and application of machine learning/statistical methods, such as:
- Logistic Regression
- Time Series Analysis
- Generalized Linear Models (GLMs)
- Mixed Models
- Gradient-Boosted Trees
- Random Forests
- Neural Networks
- Experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, statsmodels)
- Familiarity with GitHub for version control and collaboration
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
Preferred Qualifications (Nice To Have)
- Experience deploying models using CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with cloud-based ML platforms such as AWS SageMaker or Azure ML
- Ability to bridge legacy systems with modern infrastructure
- Prior experience with Snowflake, Netezza, or Microsoft SQL Server
- Exposure to SAS programming
- Understanding of cash flow analysis and its strategic implications in business decision-making
- Proven ability to lead through influence in cross-functional teams
