Job summary

FDNY seeks a full-time City Research Scientist, Level 2, in the Data Quality Unit to support evidence-based decision making. The role emphasizes data quality checks, anomaly detection, and creating dashboards using Tableau and modern Python frameworks.

You will respond to data requests and craft metrics to track department performance and public data transparency. The position involves community outreach, Open Data events participation, and collaboration across the department to build trust

Qualifications

• Master's degree in an appropriate field and specialization.
• For Level II, a doctorate with relevant supervisory/administrative or research experience; or a master's with three years of research experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform data quality checks and anomaly detection.
• Build interactive dashboards using Tableau and Python frameworks (Dash/Streamlit).
• Handle ad-hoc data requests and design metrics to report on department performance.
