Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a Data Protection Specialist Expert to lead cybersecurity policy development and enforcement, safeguarding digital assets across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.

You will oversee threat monitoring, incident response, and vulnerability management, coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure HIPAA, PCI DSS, and NIST CSF compliance while mentoring staff. This role requires an on-call commitment beyond regular hours.

Qualifications

  • 10 years of related security work experience preferred.
  • 7 years related work experience required.
  • Experience with HIPAA, PCI DSS, and NIST CSF is preferred.
  • Certifications CISSP or CISM are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate emerging technologies (AI-driven security, IoT protection) and integrate them into enterprise defense strategies.
  • Perform real-time monitoring of networks, endpoints, and cloud environments using SIEM and EDR tools.
  • Conduct threat intelligence analysis, including monitoring dark web activity and emerging attack techniques.
  • Lead technical investigations of complex security incidents.
  • Identify and remediate vulnerabilities in applications, networks, and cloud environments.
  • Ensure technical implementations align with regulatory frameworks (HIPAA, PCI DSS, NIST CSF).

Oversees the selection, development, deployment, monitoring, maintenance, and enhancement of the system's cybersecurity technology. Serves as a subject matter authority across multiple security domains, driving advanced strategies, architecture, and operational excellence. This role typically involves leadership in complex security initiatives, mentoring, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
