Data Protection and Privacy - Assistant Director (Data Risk and Incident Manager)

Role Overview

This role involves managing data risks, investigating data incidents, maintaining data inventories, and ensuring compliance with data protection laws. You will coordinate across departments and with clients, providing strategic guidance and ensuring data privacy standards are met.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Data Risk Management function, including incident investigation and remediation, data inventory management, and response to data subject requests.
• Collaborate with Information Security to design controls protecting confidential information.
• Develop strategies to enhance the Data Risk Management program aligned with industry standards and regulations.
• Monitor and analyze relevant data protection laws and update policies accordingly.
• Engage with stakeholders across the organization to improve data protection practices and reporting.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills and ability to interface effectively at all levels.
• Understanding of data protection issues and regulatory environment.
• Project management, investigative skills, and ability to work under pressure.
• Experience with data protection technologies and legal compliance.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; 4-6+ years of relevant experience.

Preferred Attributes

• Knowledge of global data protection laws and privacy certifications (e.g., CIPP, CIPM).
• Understanding of technology trends affecting data security.
