Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm is seeking a Data Privacy and Cybersecurity Junior Associate with 2-3 years of relevant experience. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in privacy law, including knowledge of privacy incident response, compliance counseling, and privacy litigation. Location:
Duties:
- Handle privacy incident response and risk management tasks.
- Provide counsel on compliance with state and federal privacy laws, including CCPA, GLBA, HIPAA, and biometric privacy regulations.
- Assist with privacy litigation matters and the development of strategies for resolving privacy-related legal issues.
- Draft and review privacy policies, contracts, and data protection agreements.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest privacy laws and regulations, advising clients on potential impacts.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys and partners in addressing complex privacy and cybersecurity matters.
Requirements:
- 2-3 years of relevant experience in data privacy, cybersecurity, or related fields.
- Knowledge and experience with privacy incident response, compliance counseling, and privacy litigation.
- Strong understanding of privacy regulations, including CCPA, GLBA, HIPAA, and biometric privacy laws.
- Ability to manage multiple complex matters while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
Education:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
Certifications:
- CIPP/US certification required (if not already certified, candidate must obtain the certification within one year of hire).
- Admission to the State Bar in the jurisdiction where the candidate will be working.
