We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Product Owner with deep expertise in Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) to drive the design, development, and optimization of healthcare financial products and services. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, billing, compliance, and customer support to deliver solutions that streamline billing workflows, reduce denials, and improve collections across the patient financial journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the subject matter expert on RCM processes including eligibility, authorization, coding, billing, claims, denials, payments, and collections.
- Define and own the product backlog for RCM-related features, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer needs.
- Gather, analyze, and prioritize requirements from internal stakeholders, customers, and market research.
- Translate business requirements into clear user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers, developers, QA, and data teams to deliver high-impact product features.
- Work closely with healthcare providers, payers, and regulatory stakeholders to ensure solutions are compliant and effective.
- Monitor and measure product performance, gather user feedback, and continuously iterate on product enhancements.
- Stay updated on industry trends, payer regulations, and RCM technologies to inform product strategy.
- Provide demos, training, and support to internal teams and customers on new features and enhancements.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Computer Science, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in Product Management or Product Ownership, with at least 3 years in healthcare and RCM.
- Strong understanding of the end-to-end revenue cycle process in provider organizations or RCM platforms.
- Experience working with EHRs/EMRs, clearinghouses, billing systems, or RCM software (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks).
- Agile/Scrum experience and ability to manage sprints and backlog grooming effectively.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or similar Agile certifications.
- Experience working with third-party integrations (e.g., insurance payers, clearinghouses, payment gateways).
- Knowledge of compliance standards like HIPAA, CMS regulations, ICD/CPT coding, etc.
- Familiarity with healthcare KPIs like Days in A/R, Clean Claim Rate, Denial Rate, Net Collections Rate.
