Xcel Energy is seeking a Data Product Delivery Lead to provide senior technical leadership for governed data products across the transformation lifecycle. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in data engineering, platform engineering, DevOps, infrastructure, or related domain.
  • Strong technical proficiency and ability to independently solve complex engineering problems.
  • Demonstrated experience designing scalable, secure environments.
  • Strong cross functional communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical delivery of governed data products across design, build, test, release, monitoring, and operational transition.
  • Define delivery plans, technical dependencies, reusable patterns, and engineering controls for assigned data‑product outcomes.
  • Partner with architects and technical leads to design and optimize cross platform integration and compliance requirements.
  • Diagnose complex infrastructure and application issues and drive resolution across test, QA, and non‑production environments.
  • Coordinate data conversion, migration, validation, performance, and release‑readiness activities across delivery teams and environments.
  • Ensure cybersecurity and regulatory controls are appropriately implemented; recommend remediation options as relevant.
  • Maintain data‑product delivery documentation, lineage and traceability artifacts, engineering standards, and reusable delivery patterns for the program.

Position Summary

The Data Product Delivery Lead provides senior-level technical leadership within a defined transformation domain, delivering advanced engineering, environment design, and integration support across complex transformation program activities. Operating with a high degree of independence, this role leads domain-level infrastructure and environment engineering, evaluates technical impacts across upstream and downstream systems, and resolves complex technical issues that Engineers and SMEs elevate. The Data Product Delivery Lead partners closely with architects, Principal Engineers, technical leads, and cross‑functional teams to ensure solutions are engineered, tested, and deployed in alignment with program standards, security requirements, and long‑term operational needs. This role plays a critical part in enabling stable, compliant, and scalable environments that support successful delivery throughout the transformation lifecycle. Within Customer Core, the role leads technical delivery coordination for governed data products that support reporting, analytics, integrations, and AI consumption, from intake and design through release and operational transition.

Essential Responsibilities

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in data engineering, platform engineering, DevOps, infrastructure, or related domain.
  • Strong technical proficiency and ability to independently solve complex engineering problems.
  • Demonstrated experience designing scalable, secure environments.
  • Strong cross functional communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Requirements
  • Experience delivering governed data products for reporting, analytics, integrations, or AI use cases.
  • Experience with data quality, metadata, lineage, access controls, and release‑readiness practices.
  • Experience coordinating technical delivery across business owners, architects, engineering teams, and system integrators.
  • CIS Utility, SAP transformation, or regulated‑industry experience.

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $112,200.00 to $165,000.00 per year
