Job summary

OpusLex Partners in Chicago seeks a Data Privacy Litigation Associate with 2–5 years of law firm experience to join its growing Emerging Data Privacy Litigation practice. You will work on high-stakes privacy disputes for employers and technology companies.

Ideal candidates have strong written and oral advocacy, solid research skills, and a demonstrated interest in privacy law, including familiarity with statutes like BIPA and CIPA and related state and federal privacy developments.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of law firm litigation experience.
• Experience defending employers and technology companies in complex litigation.
• Familiarity with privacy statutes, including BIPA, CIPA, and other state and federal privacy laws.
• Experience with privacy-related disputes involving data breaches, session replay and wiretapping claims, pixel tracking, right of publicity claims, and other emerging privacy issues.
• Strong written and oral advocacy skills.
• Excellent legal research and analytical abilities.
• Outstanding academic credentials and a demonstrated interest in data privacy law.

Responsibilities

• Associates in this practice gain meaningful, hands-on experience in privacy class actions, individual and mass arbitrations, appellate matters, and complex federal and state court litigation.
• The team handles matters involving biometric data, website technologies, artificial intelligence, advertising and tracking tools, consumer privacy laws, and data security incidents.

A prestigious AmLaw 100 firm with over 700 attorneys is seeking a Litigation Associate with 2–5 years of experience to join its nationally recognized Emerging Data Privacy Litigation practice in Chicago. This is an exciting opportunity to work on some of the most significant and fast-evolving privacy disputes in the country. The practice has handled 300+ privacy-based class actions and represents employers and technology enterprises in high-stakes litigation involving cutting-edge technologies and emerging legal theories.
