Zopa is hiring a Data Privacy Associate to turn complex privacy questions into practical, evidence-based recommendations. You will collaborate with product, tech, legal, and risk teams to embed a risk-based privacy framework.

The role offers hybrid working from our London office with flexibility for international work up to 120 days a year. We value practical privacy leadership, mentoring, and the ability to navigate regulatory contexts in fintech.

Qualifications

• Extensive practical data privacy experience with UK GDPR understanding.
• Ability to explain complex privacy issues to non-specialists.
• Experience leading or shaping privacy governance or operating models.
• Experience in fintech, technology, banking or regulated environments.
• Experience with automated decision-making systems (legal effects).

Responsibilities

• Turn complex privacy questions into clear, proportionate recommendations that enable responsible progress.
• Help to build and embed a risk-based framework for data privacy risk.
• Partner with data and technology teams on data-use and data-governance decisions.
• Lead the response to significant privacy issues with evidence-based decisions.
• Develop our Data Privacy Associate through mentoring, standards and exposure to problem-solving.
• Create trusted relationships across the business so privacy is involved early.
• Identify manual privacy processes that can be simplified or automated.
• Represent the first-line privacy perspective credibly with senior stakeholders.
• Knowledge of privacy considerations across AI model training, prompting and outputs.
