Axiomtalentplatform is seeking a UK- or equivalent-qualified lawyer to provide business-focused data protection and privacy guidance. The role covers GDPR, UK GDPR, ePrivacy, international data transfers, and data governance, with involvement in DPIAs, DSARs, and privacy notices.

You will draft and negotiate DPAs and data-sharing terms, working with cross-functional teams to implement robust privacy programs and compliance controls across the business.

• Provide practical, business-focused advice on data protection and privacy compliance across GDPR, UK GDPR, ePrivacy, and data transfers.
• Draft, review, and negotiate DPAs, intra-group agreements, vendor contracts, technology agreements, and data processing terms.
• Lead on DPIAs, LIAs, data mapping, DSAR responses, privacy notices, and records of processing.
• Collaborate with legal, compliance, product, technology, and business teams to implement privacy frameworks and governance.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical, business-focused advice on data protection and privacy compliance, including GDPR, UK GDPR, ePrivacy, international data transfers, data governance, and related regulatory frameworks.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements involving data protection and data-sharing provisions, including DPAs, intra-group agreements, vendor contracts, technology agreements, and data processing terms.
• Lead on key privacy deliverables, including DPIAs, LIAs, data mapping, DSAR responses, privacy notices, records of processing, and internal privacy policies and procedures.
• Support the design and implementation of privacy frameworks, data governance programmes, vendor risk processes, and compliance controls, working closely with legal, compliance, product, technology, and business teams.

Minimum Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer in the UK or an equivalent jurisdiction with strong data protection, privacy, or information law experience.
• Strong working knowledge of core data protection regimes, including GDPR, UK GDPR, ePrivacy, and broader privacy, digital, and data-related regulatory developments.
• Experience gained in private practice, in-house or consulting supporting commercial, technology, data-driven, or regulated organisations.
• Solid understanding of the data lifecycle, privacy risk management, data governance, commercial privacy issues, and the ability to deliver clear, pragmatic, business-focused advice.
