Job summary

Hormel Foods Corporation, based in Austin, Minnesota, seeks a Data Privacy & Governance Manager to develop and oversee the organization’s privacy and governance framework. You will collaborate with legal, IT, security, and business units to safeguard sensitive information and ensure compliance with GDPR, CCPA/CPRA/CPA, and related regulations.

The role reports to the Assistant Director, Ethics & Compliance, and requires leadership of data stewardship, risk management, and awareness initiatives

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, cybersecurity, law, business, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in data privacy, governance, compliance, or information security.
• Strong knowledge of GDPR, CCPA/CPRA/CPA, and other privacy laws.
• Experience implementing data governance frameworks and privacy programs.
• Cross-functional collaboration and influence across stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• US citizenship or eligibility to work; no visa sponsorship required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain enterprise-wide data privacy policies, standards, and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with global, federal, and regional data protection laws and regulations.
• Conduct DPIAs and privacy risk assessments; monitor regulatory developments.
• Partner with Legal and Compliance to manage inquiries, audits, investigations.
• Design and implement a data governance framework including data classification, lifecycle management.
• Oversee data cataloging, metadata management, and data lineage initiatives.
• Provide privacy and governance training to employees.
