Qualifications

1–3 years of data privacy experience is preferred.
CIPP certification or strong interest in obtaining it.
Interest in AI and privacy law highly valued.
Some experience with incident response and data breach matters.
Excellent legal research and writing skills with strong attention to detail.
Strong interpersonal skills, work ethic, and initiative.
Active Illinois bar or eligible to waive in.

Responsibilities

Analyze and mitigate risks related to collection, storage, distribution and use of data.
Provide privacy counseling and guidance to clients.
Review and draft data retention policies and data processing agreements.
Prepare incident response plans, incident reports and breach notifications.
Assist with data breach response matters and AI-related issues.
Stay current with state/federal privacy and cybersecurity laws and AI regulations.
