Job summary

Wayne Farms is seeking a Data Printer Operator to create box end labels, weigh products, and help pull and arrange supplies for the preprice function. You will check scales before shifts, weigh items, apply codes to boxes, and maintain accurate data entry while communicating with all levels of the organization.

A high school diploma is preferred, with strong attention to detail, data entry, and communication skills.

Job description

PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Data Printer Operator create box end labels, weighs product and helps pull and arrange supplies for the preprice function.


RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:



  • Check scale prior to shift start to ensure working properly

  • Weigh product and mark on master box allowing proper tare weights

  • Create box end stamp by code and stamp on box end as required

  • Pull and arrange supplies for each day’s production ensuring required items are readily available

  • Identify opportunities for improvement, present to appropriate leader, and implement, lead or participate in solution implementation

  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in all areas where mandatory helping to promote a zero-accident culture

  • Perform additional relevant duties as assigned


SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • None. This is an individual contributor role with required competencies: Functional/Technical Skills, Action Oriented, Problem Solving, Learning on the Fly, and Interpersonal Savvy


EDUCATION and CERTIFICATIONS:



  • High School diploma preferred but not required


EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:



  • Ability to read required information and apply to daily tasks

  • Good computer literacy with ability to input data correctly

  • Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization in a timely and professional manner; multi-lingual strongly preferred

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize projects, planning skills, and a high attention to detail

  • Must possess a strong customer-centric attitude, high energy level and a strong sense of urgency


SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:



  • Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs

  • Wear required protective equipment in all areas where mandatory


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:



  • Ability to work extended shifts (holiday, weekend and/or extended) as business need requires

  • Ability to work in cold/ humid or hot/ dusty environments as needed

  • Ability to lift 10 lbs frequently and 40 lbs occasionally

  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, grasp, twist, and kneel

  • Ability to stand during 8 hours shift
