Job summary

FlightSafety International seeks a senior data engineering leader to guide a team delivering enterprise data warehouse components, data integration and reporting solutions. You will mentor engineers, set coding standards, and collaborate with business stakeholders to design scalable data platforms.

The role emphasizes hands-on development in Databricks, Python, SQL, and Azure services, with a focus on data quality, SDLC compliance, and operational excellence across CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience.
• 10+ years of software development experience.
• 5+ years of enterprise ETL, analytics & reporting in SSIS/SSAS/SSRS.
• 2+ years Databricks and Unity Catalog experience; certification preferred.
• 2+ years Python development.
• 5+ years RDBMS design and development; mastery of data normalization concepts.
• 5+ expert SQL abilities; experience with T-SQL, UDF, UDAF, views, triggers, stored procedures.
• 3+ years Azure with ADLS & Data Factory and Automation.
• Experience in Data Vault 2.0 warehouse modeling; certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical direction and oversight to a team of data engineers and developers.
• Set standards for data engineering best practices, code quality, and documentation.
• Mentor and coach junior and mid-level engineers; lead design reviews.
• Partner with stakeholders to design enterprise data warehouse components.
• Provide estimations, schedules, and updates to project managers and senior management.
• Oversee development of data integration and transformation solutions.
• Lead development and support of batch jobs; perform testing and code reviews.
• Oversee deployment of components to higher environments using CI/CD.
