Job summary

Apple, Inc. is seeking a Site Reliability Engineering Manager to lead a high-performing team responsible for reliability, latency, and security across widely distributed Apple Data Platform services. You will shape the reliability vision, implement SLIs/SLOs, and drive automations and best practices.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with product teams, and guide cross-functional efforts to prevent outages and improve operational maturity at scale.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, systems engineering, or infrastructure engineering.
• 3+ years in a management role focused on leading, hiring, developing and building teams.
• Hands-on with reliability engineering, SRE, or large-scale production operations.

Responsibilities

• Partner with product engineering to define and execute reliability strategy and roadmap for Apple Data Platform managed services.
• Lead day-to-day reliability initiatives, including sprint planning and retrospectives with a focus on operational outcomes.
• Establish and own SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets, using observability to guide investments.
• Promote automation and improvements through tooling, pipelines, and self-healing systems.
• Mentor engineers through regular 1:1s and performance feedback to drive ownership and growth.
• Communicate effectively with ASE leadership and collaborate with recruiting to hire top talent.
• Own production on-call and incident management responsibilities.
