Job summary

Hapi (Data Travel, LLC) seeks a technically-minded Product Owner to join our Engineering team and lead the strategy, prioritization, and delivery of the Data Platform and Data Products. This hands-on role sits within Data Engineering, bridging data infrastructure with business value.

You own the end-to-end backlog for the AWS-native data platform, collaborating with Data Engineers, Analysts, Solutions Architecture, and Implementation/Support to translate complex requirements into actionable work

Qualifications

2–4 years of experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager with data engineering or data platform ownership.
Hands-on experience in Agile/Scrum; writing tickets, planning sprints, refining a live backlog.
Strong knowledge of modern cloud-native data architectures (data lakes, lakehouses, ELT/ETL).
Experience with AWS data services (S3, Glue, Athena, Airflow, DynamoDB, Aurora).
Ability to read and evaluate data pipeline logic, models, and schemas; not required to write code.
Experience defining data contracts, data quality requirements, or SLA frameworks for data pipelines.
Proven ability to bridge technical teams with non-technical stakeholders; clear documentation.

Responsibilities

Own and maintain the data platform product backlog; keep it aligned with technical and business objectives.
Co-author epics, features, and user stories with Data Engineers; include acceptance criteria and data contracts.
Facilitate sprint planning and backlog grooming with the Data Engineering team lead.
Triages requests from Product Management, Data Analysts, Solutions Architecture, and Support; translate to backlog items.
Remove blockers and elevate delivery risks to leadership.
