Job summary

Harnham is recruiting a Data Engineering Manager for a Chicago-based enterprise data and AI transformation. You will bridge hands-on engineering and leadership, guiding 7–9 engineers and consultants, while collaborating with Data Architecture and BI to deliver production analytics and data products.

You should have 6+ years as a hands-on data engineer with 2–4+ years in leadership, strong Python/SQL skills, and experience across Databricks, Snowflake, and cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• 6+ years as a hands-on Data Engineer before moving into leadership.
• 2–4+ years of meaningful team leadership or management.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL; capable of reviewing pipelines and designs.
• Experience with Databricks, Snowflake or other modern cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering execution across a modern enterprise data platform.
• Transform complex enterprise datasets into production analytics pipelines.
• Oversee ETL/ELT and scalable batch/streaming pipelines.
• Set engineering standards, perform code reviews and ensure data quality.
• Mentor engineers, manage consultants and drive delivery with stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Data Architecture, BI and business teams to ensure production readiness.
