Job summary

Teleport is hiring its first Data Engineer to build and own Teleport's internal data platform. You will design data pipelines and a central warehouse to turn raw data from product usage, costs, budgets, and sales into trusted data for all teams.

You will collaborate with product, engineering, finance, and revenue to model data and deliver reliable datasets. This role emphasizes data governance, scalability, and security in a remote-first, globally distributed company.

Qualifications

• Proficient in SQL and data modeling with emphasis on scalable pipelines.
• Experience building data pipelines in Python or Go.
• Familiarity with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift).
• Experience with orchestration/transformation tools like Airflow or dbt.
• Ability to handle sensitive data with proper governance and retention practices.

Responsibilities

• Design and build data pipelines ingesting data from internal sources into a central warehouse.
• Design data models and schemas that are performant and evolvable.
• Build data quality checks so bad data fails loudly downstream.
• Handle sensitive data responsibly with access control and retention policies.
• Partner with stakeholders to scope new data sources and provide self-serve access.
