Job summary

UJET is seeking a Data Engineer to own our data systems end to end, from CDC replication to Looker models. You’ll shape data in BigQuery, manage Terraform infrastructure, and drive dbt-driven analytics for thousands of tenants.

You will collaborate with Analytics, Product, and Engineering to deliver trusted metrics, maintain data quality, and scale data pipelines while focusing on reliability and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with deep data platform experience.
• Strong programming skills in Python.

Responsibilities

• Data platform enablement: build and evolve the data platform foundations for dbt work, environments, and patterns.
• Ingestion and CDC: improve CDC replication from MySQL to BigQuery with Datastream and build backfills and reconciliation tooling.
• Trusted metrics and analytics: partner with Analytics and Finance to define trusted metrics and dashboards in Looker.
• Data modeling and transformation: develop and optimize BigQuery data models and implement ELT best practices in dbt.
• Pipelines, reliability, and cost: design and maintain scalable data pipelines using Python, dbt, and containerized jobs on GKE.
