Job summary

Universal Avionics is seeking a Data Platform Developer to build a scalable data foundation for faster reporting, automation, and AI-enabled insights. You will bridge data engineering, BI, and automation to turn scattered report logic into governed data structures.

You will work with Microsoft Fabric, SQL Server, and enterprise reporting tools, collaborating with stakeholders to deliver reusable data solutions and reliable data pipelines that scale with business needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years developing, supporting, or maintaining SQL-based reporting or data platforms.
• Hands-on experience with SQL Server including stored procedures, views, and functions.
• Experience building or supporting scheduled data pipelines or ETL/ELT processes.
• Experience with SSRS or a comparable enterprise reporting platform.
• Understanding of fact and dimension structures, calendar/date dimensions, and pre-aggregated reporting data.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to translate business needs into maintainable technical solutions.
• Ability to work directly with both technical and business partners.

Responsibilities

• Build standardized fact, dimension, and pre-aggregated data structures for reporting foundations.
• Develop and maintain automated data pipelines in Microsoft Fabric.
• Modernize SSRS reporting by moving duplicated logic into reusable data structures.
• Write, test, and maintain SQL objects (stored procedures, views, functions) and pipeline logic.
• Monitor pipelines and reporting processes, troubleshoot failures, and fix data-quality issues at the root.
• Build governed data structures to support traditional reporting and AI-assisted questions.
• Partner with business stakeholders to translate recurring reporting needs into scalable solutions.
• Maintain documentation, data dictionaries, and operational practices to keep the data platform reliable.
