Job summary

Showcase is seeking a Data Platform Engineer to design and manage scalable, secure data infrastructure used by engineering, analytics, and ML teams.

You will build self-service tooling, manage data lake/warehouse, and ensure reliability, security, and performance at scale while collaborating across teams and mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in platform or infrastructure engineering.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, and cloud-native data services.
• Proficiency in Python/Go and distributed systems knowledge.

As a Data Platform Engineer at Showcase, you will play a critical role in building and managing the foundational data infrastructure that powers our engineering, analytics, and ML teams. Requirements: To be successful in this role, you will need: 4+ years of experience in platform or infrastructure engineering, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality, scalable, and reliable systems. You should have extensive experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, and cloud-native data services, as well as proficiency in Python/Go and distributed systems knowledge.

Responsibilities: As a Data Platform Engineer, your primary responsibilities will include: Building self-service data platform tooling and abstractions that enable teams to easily access and analyze data. Managing data lake and warehouse infrastructure to ensure scalability, security, and performance at scale. Ensuring platform reliability, security, and performance through proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and implement data platforms that meet business needs and drive strategic goals. Developing and maintaining technical documentation and knowledge base to support platform operations and onboarding. Providing technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and supporting their professional development. Staying up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure the data platform remains innovative and competitive. Designing and implementing data security and access controls to protect sensitive data and meet regulatory requirements. Ensuring data quality, integrity, and governance through data validation, data profiling, and data lineage.
