Job summary

Toyota North America is seeking a Data Platform Engineer to build, enhance, and support scalable data platform capabilities that enable analytics and data-driven solutions across the enterprise. You will implement reliable data services, APIs, cloud components, and automation with Snowflake, AWS, Python, and modern DevOps practices.

You will collaborate with architects, software and data engineers, and business partners to deliver secure, maintainable, and high-performing platform solutions.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of software, data, or platform engineering experience.
• Strong Python programming skills.
• Hands-on Snowflake experience and AWS familiarity.
• Experience in API development and service integration.
• Understanding of microservices architecture and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Develop and support data platform components and integrations using Python.
• Build data workflows, services, and platform utilities in Snowflake and AWS.
• Design APIs for data access and service integration.
• Contribute to microservices solutions and support orchestration.
• Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines for build, test, and deploy.

Who We’re Looking For

Toyota Financial Services (TFS) Data Platform Engineering department is looking for a Data Platform Engineer. The primary responsibility of this role is to build, enhance, and support scalable data platform capabilities that enable analytics, application integration, and data-driven solutions across the enterprise. This role focuses on implementing reliable data services, APIs, cloud-based infrastructure components, and automation patterns using Snowflake, AWS, Python, and modern DevOps practices. The Data Platform Engineer works closely with architects, software engineers, data engineers, and business partners to deliver secure, maintainable, and high-performing platform solutions.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Develop and support data platform components, services, and integrations using Python.
• Build and maintain data workflows, data services, and platform utilities in Snowflake and AWS environments.
• Design and implement APIs that support data access, service integration, and platform interoperability.
• Contribute to microservices-based solutions and support orchestration across services.
• Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes.
• Work with Docker and Kubernetes to support containerized deployment and runtime operations.
• Partner with engineering teams to ensure platform solutions are scalable, resilient, secure, and supportable.
• Troubleshoot application, data, integration, and infrastructure issues across the platform stack.
• Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and documentation updates.
• Follow engineering standards, security practices, and operational best practices.
• Support production readiness, monitoring, and issue resolution for platform services.
• Help improve platform reliability, performance, and maintainability through incremental enhancements.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in software engineering, data engineering, or platform engineering.
• Strong experience in Python programming.
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake.
• Working knowledge of AWS services relevant to data and application platforms.
• Experience in API development and service integration.
• Solid understanding of microservices architecture.
• Experience supporting or orchestrating microservices using CI/CD pipelines.
• Practical experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of software engineering and data platform delivery practices.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in complex environments.

Added bonus if you have

• Experience in data platform engineering, data services, or cloud-based data ecosystems.
• Familiarity with SQL and cloud data architecture patterns.
• Exposure to workflow automation, deployment tooling, and DevOps practices.
• Experience with observability tools, logging, monitoring, and alerting.
• Understanding of security, performance tuning, and operational reliability practices.
• Familiarity with agile development practices and cross-functional delivery teams.
