Job summary

Upside is seeking a data analytics engineer to own a dbt model domain, turning messy asks into concrete data solutions. You will collaborate with Marketing, Data, and MarTech, turning questions into testable models and reliable insights.

You’ll design, monitor, and document data assets, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to a scalable analytics platform built on Snowflake, AWS, Dagster, and Airflow.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in data or analytics engineering or equivalent work.
• Fluent in SQL with strong query performance and window functions.
• Experience owning dbt models in version-controlled repos with tests and CI.
• Proficient in Python for orchestration, transformations, and tests.
• Comfort with Snowflake or similar data warehouses and Airflow/Dagster.

Responsibilities

• Own a scoped domain of dbt models: design, build, test, ship, monitor.
• Turn marketing/product asks into scoped work and manage tradeoffs.
• Write design docs and break work into actionable pieces.
• Add monitoring and alerts to models to catch issues early.
• Participate in on-call rotation and debugging.
• Document runbooks and diagrams for knowledge transfer.
• Mentor engineers on the team in code reviews and daily work.
