Job summary

Gravity IT Resources is seeking a Data Platform Administrator to oversee the installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of our data analytics and BI platforms. You will manage platforms such as Tableau, Sigma, Alteryx, Alation, DBT, Palantir, and Snowflake, ensuring secure access, performance, and reliable data delivery for analysts and business users.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IS or related field or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of experience administering data analytics platforms (Tableau, Sigma, Alteryx, Alation).
• 5+ years of systems administration experience.
• Knowledge of ETL processes and data warehousing.
• Proficiency in SQL, scripting languages, and workflow automation.
• Experience with relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL) and data connectivity.
• Familiarity with information security and compliance standards.
• Knowledge of network protocols, security, and authentication mechanisms (AD, SAML).
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day administration of platforms including Tableau, Sigma, Alteryx, Alation, DBT, Palantir, and Snowflake, including user management, permissions, and security settings.
• Install, upgrade, and configure software and applications for each platform, ensuring compatibility with infrastructure and data sources.
• Monitor system performance, run health checks, and optimize resources for efficiency and reliability.
• Provide technical support to end users and resolve connectivity, data access, and platform issues.
• Manage data connections between platforms and data sources to ensure seamless data flow and integrity.
• Implement and maintain security protocols, conduct audits, and ensure governance compliance.
• Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery procedures for all platforms.
• Create and update technical documentation, user guides, and SOPs.
• Collaborate with data analysts, business users, and IT teams to deliver effective solutions.
• Provide training and onboarding support for new users and promote best practices.
• Stay current with platform updates, new features, and industry trends.

Role Overview:
You will oversee the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of data analytics and business intelligence platforms. Your focus is on ensuring these platforms perform optimally, securely, and are available for business users and data analysts to access, analyze, and visualize organizational data efficiently. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and may work outside standard hours for critical support.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the day-to-day administration of platforms including Tableau, Sigma, Alteryx, Alation, DBT, Palantir, and Snowflake, including user management, permissions, and security settings

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 2+ years of experience administering data analytics platforms (Tableau, Sigma, Alteryx, Alation)
• 5+ years of systems administration experience
• Knowledge of ETL processes and data warehousing
• Proficiency in SQL, scripting languages, and workflow automation
• Experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL) and data connectivity
• Familiarity with information security and compliance standards
• Knowledge of network protocols, security, and authentication mechanisms (Active Directory, SAML, etc.)
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
