Job summary

MongoDB is seeking a Software Engineer 3 to build and operate a scalable Data Pipeline platform. This role blends backend development with reliability engineering, contributing code, debugging production issues, and ensuring high availability.

You will work on a Kubernetes-based streaming stack using Kafka-compatible components and Apache Flink, with hybrid Dublin-based work arrangements. Collaboration with multiple teams will be essential to deliver robust telemetry processing.

Qualifications

• Experience with Kafka-compatible streaming platforms, Apache Flink, or comparable stream-processing technologies.
• Experience writing production backend systems in a compiled language (Java/Go/C/C++).
• Familiarity with designing scalable distributed services with strong focus on availability and performance.
• Hands-on experience operating systems and services on Kubernetes with GitOps tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, write, test and maintain backend code and features for the Data Pipeline platform.
• Contribute to and lead medium-sized technical projects through production delivery.
• Help improve scalability, availability, and reliability of telemetry ingestion and delivery to storage.
• Investigate production issues using metrics and logs to guide fixes and preventative improvements.
• Participate in on-call rotations and support customer escalations with teammates.
