Job summary

State Street Corporation is seeking an Officer in Data Operations to lead data delivery initiatives and partner with technology and product teams in support of long-term strategic plans.

You will drive data governance, manage data lineage, and deliver solutions across front-to-back investment services, with a focus on data quality and stakeholder communication.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, MIS, Information Technology, or a related field of study.
  • Data Analysis skills including SQL, Data Visualization tools, Power BI, Collibra.
  • 5+ years of experience in data analysis, Operations, or Product management.
  • Experience with front-to-back Investment management/Investment services.

Responsibilities

  • Establish partnerships with Operations, Technology, Product and E2E teams to influence cross-functional data solutions.
  • Serve as liaison between business and technology to support data-driven product demand opportunities.
  • Guide data governance initiatives across business units, including policy compliance and data quality tracking.
  • Communicate recommendations to management and senior leaders in writing and meetings.
  • Assist in pricing strategies, SOPs, data lineage, and governance initiatives.
  • Support upstream and downstream data flows and align with governance policy.
  • Create reporting on data governance progress for key stakeholders and alignment meetings.

Who are we looking for?State Street Global Delivery Data Operations team is seeking a versatile individual in an Officer role with strong data analysis and deep technical skills to lead the support of services and offerings across Global Delivery. This qualified individual will provide data and business solutions, help drive data delivery initiatives, and collaborate with technology and product partners. This leader will be expected to build relationships and collaborate with both business stakeholders and technology partnership order to contribute to the timely execution of long term strategic plans for building out sophisticated data solutions.Why this job is important to us?State Street Data Operations brings together data capabilities across the investment lifecycle to help our clients make better decisions, grow at scale, and deliver returns for their clients. The successful candidate must be skilled in analyzing our complex business service flows across front, middle, and back office operating models, with a focus on data management and delivery. They will also be driving the strategic solution design, business architecture, and business solutions/services while driving program/project execution and reporting.What you will be responsible for?Establish strong partnerships with internal stakeholders in Operations, Technology, Product and E2E architecture teams to influence and coordinate cross-functional business data solutions and products, in support of client and business goals.Act as a liaison between business and technology teams to support product demand opportunities as part of data strategy.Possess strong knowledge of front-to-back Investment management/Investment services with focus on user data requirements. Product knowledge in Global Delivery preferred.Work with business and technology partners to provide guidance on CDO initiatives, driving data governance activities across business units, including understanding policy compliance, data quality issues tracking, and resolutionCommunicates recommendations to management/senior business leaders through effective written and oral communication.Assist with pricing strategies and product policies, SOP’s, data lineage and other governance initiativesAssist in projects involving upstream and downstream data flows and processes to ensure compliance with data governance policyCreate reporting around data governance progress for key stakeholders and management and conduct as needed alignment meeting on strategic data driven initiativesWhat we value?These skills will help you succeed in this role:Strong technical skills with a background in Accounting, Custody, and/or PerformanceStrategic thinker with strong business analysis and planning skills. Capable of identifying and interpreting wider-ranging issues: ‘Big picture’ understanding.Creation of data and business process flows and defining the business problem, solution, and design using various tools.Proven experience with business requirements analysis to meet critical business needs, must display an ability to drive tasks through to completion.Experience with design and optimization of user experience across different interfaces to maximize engagement and adoptionExcellent time management and organization skills, with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities.Ability to think creatively and strategically with a focus on achieving outcomes.Experience with writing features/requirements.Deep understanding of data strategy including data lineage, quality, governance and analysisProven related financial services experience. Good understanding of State Street businesses.Demonstrate understanding of Data Operations processes and procedures and an ability to learn quickly.Ability to understand data models, data taxonomy and deep appreciation of data standards and data qualityExcellent interpersonal, communication, facilitation, presentation and negotiation skills.Proficiency with MS Office Products; MS Access, Visio; Jira, Confluence, PowerPoint, CollibraDemonstrated excellence in business writing, development of business process flow diagrams, making comparisons regarding current and future processes, and effective communication.Education & Preferred Qualifications :Bachelor’s degree in finance, MIS, Information Technology, or a related field of study.Data Analysis technical skills including SQL, Data Visualization tools, Power BI, Collibra, etc.Product Knowledge of Accounting or Custody preferred5+ years of experience in data analysis, Operations, or Product management.About State StreetWhat we do.
