Job summary

State Street is seeking an Officer to lead data analysis and governance across Global Delivery. You will partner with Operations, Technology and Product to shape data solutions and drive delivery initiatives in a complex investment services environment.

The role requires strong analysis, governance, and communication skills, with experience in SQL, Power BI, Collibra, and related tools. A Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years in data roles are expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, MIS, IT or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data analysis, Operations, or Product management.
  • Strong knowledge of data governance, data lineage and data quality.

Responsibilities

  • Establish partnerships with Operations, Technology, Product and E2E architecture teams to deliver data solutions.
  • Act as liaison between business and technology to support product demand opportunities.
  • Guide data strategy with focus on front-to-back investment management data requirements.
  • Provide guidance on CDO initiatives and governance across business units.
  • Communicate recommendations to senior leaders in writing and speaking.
  • Assist with pricing strategies, SOPs, data lineage and governance initiatives.
  • Oversee upstream and downstream data flows to ensure policy compliance.
  • Create reporting on data governance progress for key stakeholders.

Who are we looking for?

State Street Global Delivery Data Operations team is seeking a versatile individual in an Officer role with strong data analysis and deep technical skills to lead the support of services and offerings across Global Delivery. This qualified individual will provide data and business solutions, help drive data delivery initiatives, and collaborate with technology and product partners. This leader will be expected to build relationships and collaborate with both business stakeholders and technology partnership order to contribute to the timely execution of long term strategic plans for building out sophisticated data solutions.

The successful candidate must be skilled in analyzing our complex business service flows across front, middle, and back office operating models, with a focus on data management and delivery. They will also be driving the strategic solution design, business architecture, and business solutions/services while driving program/project execution and reporting.

What you will be responsible for?
  • Establish strong partnerships with internal stakeholders in Operations, Technology, Product and E2E architecture teams to influence and coordinate cross-functional business data solutions and products, in support of client and business goals.
  • Act as a liaison between business and technology teams to support product demand opportunities as part of data strategy.
  • Possess strong knowledge of front-to-back Investment management/Investment services with focus on user data requirements. Product knowledge in Global Delivery preferred.
  • Work with business and technology partners to provide guidance on CDO initiatives, driving data governance activities across business units, including understanding policy compliance, data quality issues tracking, and resolution
  • Communicates recommendations to management/senior business leaders through effective written and oral communication.
  • Assist with pricing strategies and product policies, SOP’s, data lineage and other governance initiatives
  • Assist in projects involving upstream and downstream data flows and processes to ensure compliance with data governance policy
  • Create reporting around data governance progress for key stakeholders and management and conduct as needed alignment meeting on strategic data driven initiatives

  • Creation of data and business process flows and defining the business problem, solution, and design using various tools.
  • Proven experience with business requirements analysis to meet critical business needs, must display an ability to drive tasks through to completion.
  • Experience with design and optimization of user experience across different interfaces to maximize engagement and adoption
  • Excellent time management and organization skills, with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Ability to think creatively and strategically with a focus on achieving outcomes.
  • Experience with writing features/requirements.
  • Deep understanding of data strategy including data lineage, quality, governance and analysis
  • Proven related financial services experience. Good understanding of State Street businesses.
  • Demonstrate understanding of Data Operations processes and procedures and an ability to learn quickly.
  • Ability to understand data models, data taxonomy and deep appreciation of data standards and data quality
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, facilitation, presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Products; MS Access, Visio; Jira, Confluence, PowerPoint, Collibra
  • Demonstrated excellence in business writing, development of business process flow diagrams, making comparisons regarding current and future processes, and effective communication.
Education & Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, MIS, Information Technology, or a related field of study.
  • Data Analysis technical skills including SQL, Data Visualization tools, Power BI, Collibra, etc.
  • Product Knowledge of Accounting or Custody preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in data analysis, Operations, or Product management.

Salary Range

$65,000 - $113,750 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
