Job summary

Wake County Information Technology is seeking a Data Manager - Operations in a hybrid role based in Raleigh, NC. The position entails leading the Data Operations team and overseeing databases, data pipelines, and ETL/ELT workflows to support enterprise data platforms.

Responsibilities include defining standards, governance, security, backup and recovery, as well as managing roadmaps, vendors, staffing and budgets for data operations. 80% remote with onsite Raleigh duties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IS/CE or related field.
• 4+ years in database administration, data engineering, or data operations with supervisory experience.
• Equivalent education and experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Lead Data Operations team for database admin, data engineering, integration, automation and support.
• Oversee design and reliability of databases, data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows.
• Collaborate with business units and IT to align data platform modernization.
• Establish standards for data governance, security, quality, backup and recovery.
• Manage roadmaps, vendor relationships, staffing and budget for data ops.
