Job summary

Northbound Executive Search client in New York seeks a Data Operations Analyst to analyze historical trading activity across asset classes and counterparties. You will extract, clean, and standardize datasets, perform quality reviews, and validate information against internal and external sources.

Key tasks include leveraging Excel and AI tools, identifying trends, and collaborating with Operations, Risk, and Technology teams to ensure data accuracy and maintain repeatable processes.

Qualifications

• Experience in data analysis, data entry, data quality, auditing, operations, or a related analytical function.
• Financial services experience is a plus.
• Strong Excel skills and ability to work with large datasets.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze large volumes of historical trading activity across multiple asset classes, investment vehicles, and counterparties.
• Extract, consolidate, and organize raw trading data into clean, standardized datasets.
• Perform detailed data quality reviews, audits, and reconciliations to identify inconsistencies, gaps, and duplicate records.
• Validate executing broker, clearing counterparty, and account information against internal records and external sources.
• Cleanse and standardize data, including legal entity names, account identifiers, and other reference information.
• Leverage Excel and AI-based tools to improve data review, analysis, and processing efficiency.
• Identify trends, discrepancies, and relationships within historical data and translate findings into clear, actionable insights.
• Partner with Operations, Risk, Technology, and other internal teams to resolve data discrepancies and ensure accuracy.
• Help establish repeatable processes and documentation to support ongoing data maintenance and quality control.

• Ability to interpret raw data, understand what the information represents, and communicate findings clearly.
• Exposure to SQL, Python, or other data tools is a plus, but coding experience is not required.
