Job summary

Volunteers of America Los Angeles (VOALA) seeks a Data Monitoring Supervisor to lead the data monitoring team, ensure accurate data collection and timely reporting, and develop QA protocols.

Responsibilities include overseeing data validation, coordinating with program managers, generating dashboards, training staff, and ensuring data privacy and compliance while supporting audits and strategic planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field.
• 3 years of experience in data monitoring, analysis, or evaluation with supervisory responsibilities.
• Familiarity with data systems and reporting standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee validation, cleaning and analysis of program data.
• Coordinate with program managers to ensure data integrity and reporting compliance.
• Monitor performance indicators and generate dashboards/reports for internal/external use.
• Train staff on data entry, monitoring tools, and reporting systems.
• Collaborate with IT/analytics to enhance data tools and workflows.

• Research best practices and run analyses to inform strategic planning.

JOB SUMMARY AND PURPOSE

The Data Monitoring Supervisor will Supervise the data monitoring team to ensure accurate timely and consistent data collection and reporting Develop and implement data quality assurance protocols and monitoring frameworks

The following duties may be handled in conjunction with Funder staff and Program staff where applicable

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee the validation cleaning and analysis of program and operational data
• Coordinate with program managers and stakeholders to ensure data integrity and compliance with reporting standards
• Monitor performance indicators and generate dashboards and reports for internal and external use
• Identify data trends anomalies and areas for improvement and recommend corrective actions
• Train staff on data entry procedures monitoring tools and reporting systems
• Collaborate with IT and analytics teams to enhance data systems and tools
• Ensure compliance with data privacy and security policies
• Support audits evaluations and external reviews by providing relevant data and documentation
• Research social services best practices and run analysis to offer recommendations for strategic planning based on organization data and best practices

ESSENTIAL ABILITY ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

Ability to work and deal with difficult uncooperative and potentially aggressive clients as VOALA serves the neediest of the needy in our programs which may include clients with homelessness mental illness substance abuse recently released from incarceration and other challenges

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Services for this position must be provided on site As a result the positions supervised by this job description are on site and supervisors managers leaders must be on site to provide proper direction and oversight Documentation and data entry Review Coordinate with program managers and stakeholders to ensure data integrity and compliance with reporting standards Maintain documentation of data review processes findings and corrective actions Lead data quality audits and assist in preparing reports and KPIs for internal and external stakeholders Collaborate with analysts and program staff to improve data collection tools and workflows Provide feedback and training to staff on data quality best practices Monitor data trends and flag potential issues for further investigation Assist in the development and refinement of data review protocols and checklists Other duties as required subject to change based on the needs of the organization

MANDATED REPORTER

As service providers to the underprivileged and vulnerable in our community all employees are considered Mandated Reporters and must report any instance of physical or sexual abuse to proper authorities

REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to pass a fingerprint clearance background check including criminal history personal references employment and education verifications Ability to perform under circumstances of possible emotional stress and conflicts dealing with difficult uncooperative and potentially aggressive clients as VOALA serves the neediest of the needy in our programs which may include clients with homelessness mental illness substance abuse recently released from incarceration and other challenges

EDUCATION

Bachelors degree in Data Science Public Administration Statistics or a related field

EXPERIENCE

3 years experience in data monitoring analysis or evaluation with supervisory experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Masters degree preferred Familiarity with HMIS Adsystech andor Clarity programs
